It's time to party "SLO-style" at SLO Vintners’ 19th Annual Harvest Celebration Weekend. Kick off the weekend by sampling great local cuisine paired with the best SLO Vintners wines at one of the many winemaker dinners. On Saturday, head to the biggest party of all at the beautiful Avila Beach golf resort. More than 50 wineries and restaurants will feature wine tasting, food, live and silent auctions, music and more; it's all included (free admission to Sunday open houses at the wineries included, too!). Central Coast Book & Author Festival

Thousands of book lovers will converge upon San Luis Obispo's beautiful Mission Plaza as Spider-Man headlines this year's festival.
More than 60 exhibitors are expected at this year's festival, including authors, publishers and library and writers' organizations. This event is a fundraiser for the Foundation for San Luis Obispo County Public Libraries. Proceeds benefit a multitude of library programs.

The First Annual Central Coast Railroad Festival
October 8-12, 2009
The Central Coast Railroad Festival will be a family friendly event designed to please both the casual train buff and the avid rail fan. Attendees will be able to celebrate rail's history and future while participating in all types of modeling, various train rides, exhibits, ceremonies, dedications, historical presentations and special programs. Various rail organizations, historical societies, libraries and tourist attractions will be involved in the events.

First Annual Veteran's Celebration

The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association will be hosting its first annual Veterans' Celebration at Thursday Night Farmers Market on November 12, 2009. The event is to honor the more than 25,000 veterans throughout the San Luis Obispo county and throughout the United States. The event will also honor those currently serving our country and honor those who died in service. The event will be dedicated to activities, music, exhibits, booths and information related to the branches of military.
