San Luis Obispo's Wine Region
gets ready to "Roll Out the Barrels"
San Luis Obispo, CA – The San Luis Obispo Vintners Association is pleased to announce the dates of their popular spring wine event- “Roll Out the Barrels”. 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the Roll Out the Barrels Weekend which will be held April 29th – May 2nd, 2010. More than twenty wineries throughout the San Luis Obispo Wine Region will participate in events throughout the weekend. This four day extravaganza consists of 3 major components: Barrels in the Plaza, Winemaker Dinners, and the popular 2-day Passport to SLO Wine Country.
Barrels In the Plaza- Thursday, April 29th from 5:00 – 7:00
In San Luis Obispo’s historic downtown Mission Plaza join us for our signature weekend event which will feature this year’s them: ‘grown here, made here’ with the Perfect Pairings! SLO Vintner’s will partner with local chefs to go side by side and pair up the perfect culinary bites with the perfect sampling of wine. This will be the ultimate way to celebrate a complete culinary experience right from the terrain of San Luis Obispo. Also, in celebration of their 20th year, tickets to this event are just $20 if purchased prior to April 20th or until sold out! After April 20th, tickets will be $30 each.
Winemaker Dinners at participating San Luis Obispo Wineries-Friday, April 30th
Enjoy exceptional culinary experiences with the winemakers and principals of San Luis Obispo’s finest wineries; this is a delicious way to meet the people who shaped our SLO wine region.
Roll Out the Barrels Passport Weekend- Saturday, May 1st & Sunday, May 2nd from 11:00 – 4:00
The annual two-day passport portion will allow visitors access into over 20 wineries where they will be able to experience wine and food pairings, reserve barrel tastings, entertainment and special discounts.

Not only is it a great educational weekend, but it is ‘over the top’ when it comes to the food and wine presented at all the events.
