Sunset magazine recently named San Luis Obispo in their article ‘20 Best Towns of the Future,’ not for something futuristic but for SLO’s great food and sustainable food practices.  San Luis Obispo named 5th in nation for being fit
According to recent study release by Gallup and Heathways, San Luis Obispo was ranked 5th in the US for being the ‘Least Obese Metro Areas’. The study found that the US overall average obesity rate was 26.5% but San Luis Obispo’s average was far less at 17.6%. Maybe San Luis Obispo’s rate is less due to its natural playground of hiking trails, great biking paths and many other outdoor adventures that keep San Luis Obispo residents and visitors active and outdoors just about 365 days a year.
