San Luis Obispo Restaurants

Travelers know memorable meals combine local flavors with dining options that reflect a range of cuisines. San Luis Obispo is a city in love with food, and rewards its visitors with truly divine dining experiences. Many restaurants pour local wines which rival Europe's finest, some have outdoor dining, and most feature fresh produce harvested locally.

San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas have a variety of cuisine to suit every taste and budget, including American, barbecue and burgers, chinese food, pizza, seafood, vegetarian cuisine and more. Whether you consider yourself a foodie or you just love a great meal, you'll find the best places to eat are local restaurants.

California’s Central Coast now hosts some of the world’s most renowned chefs, and our cosmopolitan cuisine has been touted by food aficionados like Rachael Ray, who recently filmed an episode of The Food Network's "Tasty Treats" at a local hot spot. North Coast Restaurants

RestaurantsSan Luis Obispo County's North Coast stretches from Los Osos through Morro Bay, Cayucos, San Simeon and Cambria. It's no wonder this Central Coast region has long been recognized for its abundance of exceptionally fresh seafood.

Watch fishermen haul in the day's catch, or go straight to one of the restaurants to enjoy the freshly prepared cuisine that offers something to suit every palate.

North County Restaurants

San Luis Obispo County's northern region — locals call it "North County" — stretches from the outskirts of San Luis Obispo to Paso Robles. Home to more than 170 bonded wineries and 25,000 acres of vineyards, the region is recognized as the heart of California's premium wine culture and is the fastest growing wine region in the state. It is one of the rare places in the country where Rhône varietals reach perfection in the hands of local winemakers. California wine is simply the best.

It's only natural, then, that local restaurants create unique environments for food and wine pairing. If you are having a hard time deciding which cuisine will go best with your cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir or chardonnay, don't hestitate to ask one of the locals.
