Thank you for your interest in San Luis Obispo’s familiarization tour for members of Media Kitty; we are so excited to introduce you to our town! With this email there are some materials which will hopefully help orient you with San Luis Obispo in preparation for your visit.

In the months leading up to your trip, we will be touching base with you to notify you of your lodging arrangements, activities, and any other information pertaining to your San Luis Obispo visit.

In the meantime, here’s what we have in store for you during the days of April 30th – May 2nd.

Wednesday, April 30th
Afternoon Arrive in San Luis Obispo; check in at your hotel.
We encourage you to settle in and take advantage of the many amenities and activities San Luis Obispo has to offer, whether it’s a round of golf, a spa treatment, a stroll through San Luis Obispo’s historic and charming downtown, window shopping, a hike atop a volcanic peak, exploring antique stores, or just plain relaxing.
4:00-5:30 p.m. Welcome reception along with some great wine tasting featuring San Luis Obispo wineries.
7:00 p.m. Dinner in San Luis Obispo.

Thursday, May 1st
9 a.m.
  Depart for Hearst Castle. Located in beautiful San Simeon (45 minutes north of San Luis Obispo), publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst’s La Cuesta Encantada (The Enchanted Hill) awes and inspires visitors decades after it was built. Lunch will be provided.
2-4 p.m. Wine Tasting in the Edna Valley- take a tour with us through some of the best wineries on the Central Coast; Edna Valley Vineyard, Talley, Claiborne and Churchill and Baileyana.
5:30 p.m.  Come back to downtown SLO to the historic mission for the Roll Out the Barrels Celebration and also enjoy our San Luis Obispo’s famous Thursday Night Farmers’ Market and have dinner right on the street at the market!

Friday, May 2nd
9:30 a.m.
Take a tour of San Luis Obispo’s historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa (founded in 1772) in downtown SLO. Considered by many to be the most beautiful of all California missions.  Walk San Luis Obispo’s Path of History or enjoy other downtown activities: tour the SLO County Historical Museum, SLO Art Center, downtown art galleries, shopping in unique stores/boutiques, live music next to San Luis Creek, or relax and enjoy an afternoon coffee drink at one of SLO’s charming coffee houses.
